What is an Omelette Waffle?
An Omelette Waffle is simply a waffle that is stuffed with an omelette, or omelet as Americans would call it. You cannot make an omelette waffle in a typical Belgian waffle maker that makes 1-inch thick Belgian waffles because the pockets would not be deep enough to fit an omelet sandwiched in between two layers of waffle batter.
If you want to make an Omelette waffle, you will have to use one of the thickest Belgian waffle makers on the market. These types of Belgian waffle makers can make 1.75-inch or thicker Belgian-style waffles which means their pockets or indentations are deep enough to accommodate an omelet and two different layers of batter.
What is an Omelette?
A French omelette uses just eggs and butter and contains no filling while a Spanish omelette uses eggs, olive oil, potatoes, and onions.
An omelette is one of the most common egg dishes and is usually cooked in a frying pan until it is almost firm enough to fold or rolled up which usually takes between 4 to 5 minutes.
Then the other ingredients, including cheese, ham, vegetables, or herbs, are poured along the center of the omelet where the mixture is cooked until the eggs are set.
Omelettes are usually served hot and often eaten for breakfast, but can also be eaten as a main course for dinner.
How do you make an Omelette?
Should you add milk to an omelette?
Adding milk to an omelette is a really big mistake because it makes the eggs watery and less flavorful and prevents them from cooking properly. These bad things happen because the milk causes the proteins in the eggs to denature, which means they unravel and lose their shape, resulting in watery eggs that ruin the omelette.
If you want to add some moisture to your omelette, you should use some water instead of milk because it will not make them too watery which will enable the eggs to cook properly.
Water is a necessary ingredient in making omelettes because it will help the eggs cook evenly and make them fluffy and prevent them from sticking to your pan and falling apart. It helps create the correct consistency and texture.
However, adding too much water can ruin an omelette because this will make the eggs so wet and soggy that it will be difficult to flip and potentially fall apart when it is served. The best way to avoid this is to add just enough water to coat the bottom of the pan and then wait until it begins to simmer before adding the eggs. The water becomes steam which rises through the omelette and makes it a lot fluffier.

• 1 bowl of waffle batter
